Digital Nomads interested in this visa should submit their applications at the Portuguese Consulate affiliated with their current country of legal residence.
Residence Visa and Residence Permit for Digital Nomads For Digital Nomads contemplating a more protracted stay, typically exceeding one year, the Residence Permit for Digital Nomads emerges as the ideal solution. The process commences with an application for a special Residence Visa for Digital Nomads, which should be filed by the principal applicant at the Portuguese Consulate serving their present legal residence area.
This visa permits a maximum of two entries and a stay of up to four months in the country. Furthermore, it facilitates the issuance of residence permits for immediate family members under the "family reunification" provisions, exempting them from the need to procure the customary special visa required for entering Portugal as tourists.
